What is a Stroke?
Most strokes occur due to a blood clot or ruptured blood vessel in or leading to the brain. A ruptured blood vessel causes bleeding within or over the surface of the brain. Both of these types of strokes cut off oxygen and nutrients to the brain due to the lack of blood flow through the blocked or ruptured blood vessel. Therefore, the brain begins to die.
IF YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE EXPERIENCES ONE OR MORE STROKE WARNING SIGNS, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY!
